In addition to standard single and multiuser licenses, we offer two further, interesting licensing models, which we would like to present in shortened form here.

Any of URW’s proprietary fonts is available for web embedding. Note the web embedding icon [icon webfonts]. The list of Webfonts is continuously growing.

Please contact us if you want to license a particular font, for which no license is currently available.
Web-Embedding License

The Web Embedding license allows for the embedding of URW ++ font(s) in one domain.We send you the webfont data and you retain complete control. No external hosting!

The price depends on the page views per month and applies to a primary domain.

Data format: EOT and WOFF (please contact us for additional formats).

Short overview of the license provisions:

  • The typeface data are not transferred in "open" form to the user.
  • The typefaces may be used only on the licensed server.
  • The licensee shall ensure that the typefaces are used solely on the licensed server and/or on the licensed domain.
    Additional Multi-Domains on request.
  • The license is valid only for a limited time.

Web-Server License (Application License)

Application environment
  • The application software (photo service, greeting cards, t-shirt printing, etc.) in which the typefaces are to be used must be running on a designated / defined server.
  • The software should offer the user a selection of different typefaces.
  • Alternatively, this license can be used for software products offered on CD/DVD.

Data format: OpenType and/or TrueType (incl. West- and Central European - Layout).

Short overview of the license provisions

  • The typeface data are not transferred in "open" form to the user, but rather solely as GIF, JPG, SVG or PDF (Please contact us for additional formats).
  • The typefaces may only be used on the licensed server or in the licensed software.
  • The license is valid only for a limited time. The licensing charges are due each year.
  • The licensee shall ensure that the typefaces are used solely in the designated / defined software.  

Web-App License

Such as Web-Server License, but designed for use with an app.

eBook License

Such as Web-Server License, but designed for use with an app.
