BrassFonts is the sympathetic type brand from Cologne flooding the world with splendid typography. More than 30 font families represent a concentric corrective to the omnipresent typographical junk.

"Two hearts beat in our breast!" On the left the clear voice of reason, of the critical eye and of responsibility for the world. On the right the spirit of discovery, the joy of adventure and the longing for innovation. BrassFonts needs both. In order to discover ever new ways of design – and in many cases to discard them again. In the end a good designer takes on a big responsibility. Only the best is good enough for the beholder as well as for the message. Not everything that functions, actually works. What works is determined by the content. The goal is to garnish the content in a way pleasing to the reader’s taste – and to stimulate, move and entertain him. This is true in particular for typefaces – and for their master, the typographer.

In the end everything is typography: Be it a thoughtlessly scribbled note on a napkin or loudly illuminated characters in an amusement hall, or anything in-between. It is our job to filter out the fitting type design from the vast sea of characters – rationally and with the spirit of discovery; in order to finally have a typeface which does more than simply transport the content of the text.

The mission and the goal of BrassFonts is to discover and to utilize such typefaces. Sometimes we are even successful in our mission. Rarely enough to become hype, but often enough to create and present good typography changing the way people perceive.
